and everyone else is just paying the rent.
*Sigh*... haven't been on here in a while, and it feels great to finally be able to vent somethings that have been on my mind lately (not that anyone is going to read this, mind you).
Since my last post, I have completed my junior year in high school and got my second job (I "officially" quit McDonald's a while back), this time its at Red Lobster.
Now, honestly, the job isn't that bad... hell the pay is great compared to McDonald's...
However, the eye candy is seriously lacking. I mean there are two (I think) "decent" guys at my job... the rest of them can just suck it... for reasons that I wish not to delve into... another post, another day.
One of the guys that I think is "decent" is... Male #1. I won't give away names... just yet... I'll wait a little bit before I do that. Anyways Male #1 is not from this grand old state named Texas... he is from I-da-hoe (I had to make that small- and lame- joke)... and being from said Idaho... he was not necessarily exposed to the world that I was exposed to growing up (I mean, come on... I was born in a state where- now- gays and lesbians can get married there)... in other words... he had never met a black person or a mexican before he moved down here. His "life" back "home" I guess you could say was very narrow minded... what he saw on TV is what he thought (not in all instances but when it came to the description of black people and mexicans)... he said that he used to be a racist but now he's changed... which I can believe honestly because if he was really racist... he would have been spewing racial slurs from the moment he laid eyes on me and he hasn't done any of that, in fact, he has been one of the nicer servers that I have worked with. =]
Now with all that being said, in the midst of our conversation (our manager was also present for this) two black women were present (although they were not involved in our conversation, per say) and they heard every word that Male #1 had to say... and let's just say no happy faces were upon their faces... so much so that they decided to interject themselves into the conversation and begin to attack Male #1 (they did this after he left of course). Male #1, in turn, just wanted to defended himself because he can not be blamed for the lifestyle he was raised in. Which I can completely understand and respect... I just wish those ladies had listened to the conversation and not just what he had to say... because both myself and the manager were both inputting some valuable information that I think he took to the heart (or at least I hope he did).
Oh well... you really can't change everyone's opinions.
Senior `09!!... signing out!! =]
